Residential Structure Fire - 10948 Newport Farms Drive

At 1258 hours on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, the Berlin Fire Company was alerted to 10948 Newport Farms Drive for a reported residential structure fire. Engine 604 arrived and reported a 3 story single family residence with nothing evident. Chief Derrick Simpson established command. Initial investigation found fire in the attic space of an addition to the residence and command requested the remainder of the box alarm to filled. Crews worked diligently to control the fire. The fire was eventually placed under control and units returned to service as ready. Other units on scene included Ocean Pines Engine 1102, Newark Tanker 5 and Worcester County Fire Marshal's Office FM's 2 and 4. Powellville Engine 1103 provided a standby at Berlin Fire Headquarters for the duration of the fire.
