Command Vehicle in Service - Berlin Fire Headquarters
Monday, December 29, 2008
The Berlin Fire Company has recently placed in service "600 Command." The command unit is a 2008 Chevrolet Suburban. The purpose of the command unit is for fire officers to respond to the scene of calls for service and have access to equipment needed to better operate on the scene. The command unit is equipped with a command center in the back compartment, consisting of accountability equipment, dual radios and other important equipment. It has a compartment for the duty officer to store their fire gear. The command unit also has an SCBA available as well as a mobile radio battery charger that charges multiple batteries at the same time. The command unit is a great addition to the fleet. We would like to thank everyone who donates to the fire department and for the funding received from the Town of Berlin, Worcester County and State of Maryland. If not for the generosity of those supporting the fire department, this impressive command unit would not be possible.
